Sunny Saturday allowed a large selection built by various motor manufacturers to be exhibited. A really good event was enjoyed by many as a result.

1974-1982 (Mitsubishi) Colt Celeste. The Celeste came with either a 1.4, 1.6 or 2.0 engine. In 1976 the Celeste 1600ST was priced at £2,559 and offered a top speed of 95 mph and 0-60 in 13.0 secs. By comparison a Ford Capri 1600 GL II came in at £2,625 offering a top speed of 94 mph and 0-60 in 13.1 secs. One of the problems confronted by Japanese imports at the time was a strict limit on the number of imports allowed into the UK. Possibly a reason the Celeste never sold in great numbers.
1970-75 Citroen SM. The SM was intended as a high performance coupe with adequate accommodation for four adults. Offered with two V6 engines a 2.7 or 3.0 and either a 5 speed manual or 3 speed automatic transmission. The engines were from Maserati and therefore oomph was assured. The 2.7 for example was capable of a top speed of 135 mph and 0-60 in 7.6 secs. Not bad for a car from the 70s! In total 7,808 were manufactured of the early non-injection model. The number of those remaining in the UK today is: Licensed 75 / SORN 40.
1963-67 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL. Total production reached 19,831. The 2308 cc engine generates 150 bhp proving ample power for is a touring open top rather than a charging bruiser.
