1780cc Engine with Twin SU Carbs and Overdrive.
The interior of the car is exceptional and has been upgraded and improved without taking anything away from its 1960’s original look. Externally the car is not a show car and would benefit from selective bodywork depending on the new owner’s preferences. However, the car is perfectly presentable and usable as is, and certainly would not embarrass itself at any local car events this summer season.
The Volvo Amazon was introduced to the world in 1956. Named after the female warriors in Greek mythology, it is still one of the most iconic models in Volvo’s history.
With its elegant, timeless styling the Amazon broke new ground for Volvo differing greatly from the common perception of what a Volvo should look like.
In 1958 the 122S (S for Sports) was introduced, with more power and a much-wanted four-speed gearbox making the car very attractive in the public eye. Known as the Amazon in Sweden and the 121 and 122S in the export market.
Despite its substantial appearance, it was one of the sportiest European saloons of the 1960s. Volvo’s factory driver, Carl-Magnus Skogh, won the 1965 Acropolis Rally in Greece driving a 122S.
The man responsible for the design was 26-year-old Jan Wilsgaard, who went on to become Volvo’s head of design for many years.
**Please bear in mind this old girl is 57 years old & should not be compared to a modern car.
Unless advertised as Concours (a show vehicle in pristine condition) there will be imperfections, blemishes & age-related wear & tear in there somewhere, even if not apparent on first viewing. It is inevitable that some degree of tinkering and care will be called for.
Owning a classic car is a hobby & you will spend time & money on ongoing care & maintenance. You should take this into consideration before buying a classic car.
The description of the car is based on my opinion, & it could be that it will differ from yours. If you are considering buying the car, I recommend that you examine & test the car and satisfy yourself as to its condition and suitability.

1959 Austin A35 Quite Simply A Little Beauty, Certain To Bring A Smile To Your Face – £6450

The A35 was a small car sold by the British Motor Corporation under the Austin marque in the 1950s.
Introduced in 1956, it replaced the highly successful Austin A30. The name reflected the larger and more-powerful 34 hp A-Series straight-4 engine, enabling a slightly higher top speed and better acceleration.
The A35 was very similar in appearance to the A30, except for a larger rear window and a painted front grille, with chrome horse-shoe surround, instead of the chrome grille featured on the A30.
Both had 13 in wheels. The semaphore turn-signal indicators were replaced with present-day front- and rear-mounted flashing lights.
A slightly easier to operate remote-control gear-change was provided.
Much of the improved performance was a result of different gearbox ratios. The A30 had the first three ratios close together then a big gap to top (4th gear). The A35 ratios were better spaced and gave a max speed in third of 60 mph against about 45 mph for the A30.
In dry storage since 2019 the car has been regularly started and the owner had continued to tax and insure up until this summer.
The car is in amazing condition and a super little driver. The owner had maintained it meticulously and along with regular servicing it has had anything needed to improve it.
This includes a complete new interior, engine rebuild including unleaded cylinder head conversion, alternator, electric fuel pump and new battery. Not forgetting the exterior new chrome bumpers were fitted, new tyres, new front shocks and wishbones to name but a few. Whilst maybe not a Concours d’Elegance winner this little gem would grace any classic car show or event. MOT exempt & free road tax, low cost classic car insurance.
Very affordable entry level classic car, economical to run with inexpensive maintenance costs. All parts are readily available for ongoing care and maintenance.
Please bear in mind she is now 64 years old & should not be compared to a modern car.

1965 Singer Vogue Series 3 – Absolutely Beautiful Car – £8450
‘Bertie’ is just a superb all round car, and really needs to be seen to be appreciated. Bertie was owned and restored by the Vogue Registrar of the Singers Owners Club.
Maybe not quite in the same league as some of the other luxruy saloons from the 60’s, the Vogue was aimed at the luxury market and was amongst one of the few cars of that era that came with reversing lights fitted as standard

The first generation Singer Vogue I/II/III/IV models of 1961 to 1966, was a badge engineered version of the Hillman Super Minx. Introduced in July 1961, it was positioned above the Super Minx and Singer Gazelle in the Rootes Group range, and had quadruple headlights as well as a more powerful 66 bhp version of the 1,592 cc Minx engine. The Series II version for 1963 had front disc brakes as standard, changes to the interior, removal of the chrome bonnet strip and a change to amber front indicator lenses. The Series III of 1964 gained six light bodywork and an increase in power to 84 bhp.
‘Bertie’ was owned and lovingly restored, with no expense spared, over a number of years by the Vogue Registrar Rob Moss, who also owns a specialist Citroen restoration business. So not only a Singer lover but a very experienced car restorer.
A lovely car to drive, she is smooth and quiet on the road. Her spacious interior will comfortably accommodate a family of four, and the large boot means there is adequate room for picnic hampers, table & chairs.
MOT exempt & free road tax, low cost classic car insurance.

The Hillman Super Minx is a family car which was produced by Hillman from 1961 to 1967. It was a slightly larger version of the Hillman Minx.
The Super Minx gave Rootes, and particularly its Hillman marque, an expanded presence in the upper reaches of the family car market.
In 1964, with the launch of the Super Minx Mark III the car was facelifted, and the wrap-around rear window gave way to a new “six-light” design with a larger side windows aft of the rear side doors. The windscreen and side windows were also made taller and the roof-line flatter.
For a car nearing its 60th birthday this Super Minx is in very good all round condition and that goes for the underside too. The exterior shines up well, the chrome work is good, interior is excellent, under the bonnet and in the boot are in great condition.
A very enjoyable car to drive, she is smooth and quiet on the road. Her spacious interior will comfortably accommodate a family of four, and the large boot means there is adequate room for picnic hampers, table & chairs.

As seen in the photos the exterior of the car is in beautiful condition, finished in Jaguar Red, a beige hood, wire wheels and of course the obligatory picnic basket on the boot. The car was only used on dry spring/summer days and always dry stored.
And if that’s not enough just take a look at the beige leather interior, deep red carpets and that stunning walnut and leather dashboard complete with radio / CD player.
A car that’s sure to make you stand out from the crowd and bring a smile to your face every time you’re out in her.
The Morgan plus 4 is a more powerful and larger model than the earlier 4/4 model. It ran in production from 1950 to 1969 and was revived in 1985 until 2000 until the plus 8 came along.
Morgan slowly improved the plus 4 over the years, one of the bigger changes being the introduction of Rover’s punchy 140BHP T16 2.0L engine along with the firm’s five-speed gearbox in 1992.

A lovely MGB convertible, great fun to drive, with only routine care and maintenance needed to keep her as good as she currently is.
Sitting on good condition minilites with 4 matching tyres, she looks drives and sounds really well, and the overdrive on 3rd and 4th gear works as it should.
Both the inside and outside of the car are in great shape, the vermillion gloss finish looks fantastic and the interior is showing none of the signs of wear you might expect on a 42 year old car. The hood is also in good condition and is easily put up and down.
Although MOT exempt she comes with MOT until June 2024, the MOT examiner happy to point out at how sound she is underneath. Likewise both under the bonnet and in the boot are very clean with no sign of corrosion, rust or previous repairs.
Very affordable entry level classic car, economical to run with inexpensive maintenance costs. All parts are readily available for ongoing care and maintenance.
Please don’t compare this old girl to a modern car. She’s 42 years old, and there may be imperfections, blemishes & age related wear & tear in there somewhere, even if not apparent on first viewing.
Owning a classic car is a hobby & you will spend time & money in ongoing care & maintenance, this is part of the joy of owning a classic car.
October 1974 saw the most important changes in the B’s styling with the appearance of the controversial rubber bumpers needed to meet American 5mph crash tests.
Unfortunately, the suspension also had to be raised by 1.5 inches to satisfy standard bumper height requirements which, along with the deletion of anti-roll bars, had an adverse effect on the cars handling.
This was recognised in 1976, when the cars were again fitted with rear anti-roll bars, together with a revised steering rack, which went some way to restoring the status quo.
Revamped dashboards and switchgear and garish striped cloth seats also appeared on these late cars. The last roadster and the last GT (both LE ‘special edition’ models) were built at Abingdon on 22 October 1980.
The factory closed shortly afterwards. In all, 512,243 MGBs were built (386,961 roadsters and 125,282 GTs) which then made the MGB the most successful sports car of all time.
Asking Price is £6,500. CONTACT: Harry on 0739 44444 80
