The Porsche 356 built between 1950 and 1965 is a design that can be said to have lasted the test of time. Hint of 911 is clearly visible.  With a rear engine rear wheel drive set-up, it challenged the standard formula of engine location preferred by rivals.

During its fifteen-year lifespan, more than 76,000 were manufactured. Many were sold to the U.S. and it’s possible that the country has the largest collection of 356s available.

Sadly, the DVLA has no data on how many of these unique sportscars remain on UK roads. However, given the infrequency of seeing one suggests relatively few.
